Welcome to my world of sustainable fashion! I’m Pranathi Bandi, a fashion designer born and raised in the vibrant city of Hyderabad. My journey into the world of design is quite unique—I started as an engineer in Electronics and Communications, working at an IT firm. However, my love for nature and deep admiration for the rich tapestry of Indian textiles led me on a different path. I decided to pursue my passion by earning a diploma in Fashion Design, which sparked a transformation in my life.
The Turning Point
During my exploration of fabrics, I came across a startling revelation: the harmful impact of synthetic fibers like polyester on our health and the environment. These materials not only have low pranic energy, affecting our well-being, but they are also major contributors to pollution. Textile waste is currently the second-largest pollutant in the world. Every time we wash synthetic fabrics, millions of microplastics are released into our water systems, eventually making their way into the environment—and even into our bodies. This realization became a driving force for me to make a change.
The Birth of Tissage
Inspired by my love for Indian textiles and my desire to protect the environment, I founded Tissage. This isn’t just a fashion label; it’s an initiative dedicated to creating eco-friendly clothing with a focus on sustainability.
